Born in 1981 in Avola, I left my Sicily in 2000 to enroll at the University of Perugia where I graduated in 2005 in Conservation of Cultural Heritage with a historical-artistic address with a research thesis at the Archive of the Municipality of Perugia. Before my graduation I carried out various work activities to finance my studies especially in the field of catering while keeping in me the passion for books, research and the passion for art in all its forms; from these work experiences, to date, I can strongly say that I have learned a lot, indeed probably, a good part of my approach especially towards interpersonal relationships, the management of the "client", the ability to organize my individual work and also that in teams and even learning a foreign language. These skills learned at the tables sometimes in a bar, sometimes in a restaurant, are and will always be part of my baggage  training even now that the working environment has changed. In 2008 the most important step: winner of the competition announcement for the National Civil Service for the "Libraries at Open Doors" project of the Municipality of Perugia, I was included as a library assistant in the staff of the "Augusta" Municipal Library of Perugia where I I work, alongside my tutor, in cataloging the modern book. It is in this context that I learn the first notions of cataloging and I fall in love, in an "official" way, with the world of libraries and archives. In 2009 I enrolled in the Archival, Paleography and Diplomatic School of the Vatican Secret Archives where I graduated the following year. From there I work for almost a year for a Roman company (BUCAP Spa - https://www.bucap.it/ ) which manages public and private archives in outsourcing in Rome before moving permanently to Perugia where since September 2010 I have been working as librarian at the libraries of the University of Perugia through the CAeB Cooperative . Over the years I have learned the skills first of front-office management and then also in some back-office activities, such as cataloging and physical processing of the book. In 2014 I joined the CER of the AIB Umbria section and in 2017 I received the appointment of President of the section I currently cover. The activity in AIB has allowed me to deepen my passions in the field of digital library; for this reason, in 2015 I created the “Digital Tour” project, a “learning by doing” course on the use of the MediaLibaryOnLine (MLOL) platform, also taking advantage of my IT skills, the fruit of my passion, developed over the years; it is from this moment that my career as a trainer begins. To date, about 10 courses I have held around Umbrian libraries (municipal and university) and beyond; since 2017 I have been hired as a trainer for the Digital Library for the National Civil Service of the Municipality of Perugia in the context of cultural projects with specific libraries. The training is involving me a lot and it would be my desire that it become a side activity to that of the librarian.
